How does the Slideshow Hosting Subscription Service you offer work?

Purchase of the Flash Slideshow Design Services includes the Slideshow Hosting Subscription which enables Netcom Support to utilize the SlideShow CMS (Content Management System).

Netcom Support will maintain, update and backup your content using the Slideshow CMS for 2 yrs. as part of the included 2 yr. subscription offered with each slideshow service.

You may re-subscribe for a hosting subscription through us before your current subscription expires. The subscription is for the Hosting of your slideshow content only, and can be re-subscribed to in increments of 6, 12 or 24 month durations.

Is my content safe/secure?

Absolutely. All uploaded content is backed up daily, so nothing is ever lost.

How are images published to the slideshow?

All photos are published for your player automatically using our Slideshow CMS's "on-demand publishing system". The Slideshow Player requests content from our Slideshow CMS, and then our Slideshow CMS publishes all the requisite photos necessary to fill your main slideshow, thumbnails in the navigation, album previews, and photos formatted for full screen resolutions (when the player is in full screen mode).

Do I get FTP acces to my Slideshow Hosting Subscription?

No. All management of your Slideshow Hosting Subscription is handled by Netcom Support.

I want to cancel my slideshow hosting subscription early. Can you refund the unused time?

We can cancel your account, but cannot refund any unused slideshow hosting subscription time. All sales final.

What happens to my content if I don't re-subscribe?

Your account, and all content associated with it, will be deleted. This also means that any slideshows you have that are loading content from your hosted installation will fail to operate. The administrative contact will receive plenty of notices/warnings when the subscription is coming up for renewal.

Content Preloading

All slideshow content is invisibly preloaded before it appears. Progress is communicated to the end user through a preloading animation in the center of the Content Area. When the animation ends, the requested image will load.

Content Caching

Our Slideshow player can cycle through all of the content in an album and invisibly load them into the browser cache. When used, any requested content that has been cached will display immediately without any preloading.

Accepted Image Formats

The player can load non-animated GIFs, JPGs, or PNGs. SWFs are acceptable too, but for interactivity reasons it is best to only load SWFs that do not include buttons or anything that requires mouse input.

Accepted Video Formats

FLV and F4V, as well as H.264 videos saved as MOV, MP4, M4V and 3GP. H.264 is recommended.

Accepted Audio Formats

We can assign MP3 files to load as background audio for any album. MP3s must be encoded with a sample rate of 44.1 khz one of the following supported bit rates (kbps): 8 / 16 / 20 / 24 / 32 / 48 / 56 / 64 / 80 / 112 / 128 / 160. Most MP3s meet these criteria, but if your audio plays back fast or slow, it's been encoded using an unsupported bit rate and/or sample rate.

Any limit on how many images/videos I can upload?

No. Each account has unlimited content upload capacity.

Any limits on file size?

10mb is the max for each image, 100mb the max for each video.

Any limits on bandwidth?

No. We'll provide as much as you need.

Any limit on the number of albums/galleries I can have created?

No. We can create as many as you want.

Any restrictions on uploaded content subject matter?

The Customer is strictly prohibited to provide content that is pornographic, sexually explicit, of a violent nature, and/or illegal (including stolen copyrighted material).

Our Slideshow services are not meant to serve as Stock Photography or YouTube like websites and submissions of this nature are strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated.
